A seemingly simple story about a failed pathologist. Severyn is undervalued at work and poorly paid, and something strange is happening in his personal life. His self-esteem is at rock bottom. Practically hitting a dead end, he grabs at the chance to earn extra money. Yes, the offer isn’t exactly legal. Yes, nothing good likely comes from the organ transplant black market. But the idea of finally securing a comfortable life is tempting.
After all, Severyn only has to take a small thing from already deceased people — something they no longer need anyway. For now, it’s from dead people. For now, it’s just a small thing.
Step by step, decision by decision, the pathologist changes — transforms. From a scorned man on the brink of alcoholism, he first gains confidence, then loses principles. After committing one crime, it becomes easier to commit another, and the next. What was unacceptable yesterday becomes the new normal. And the question arises: can he stop now, and how far can he go?
