Imagine that there is a place on Earth that seems frozen in time. A place capable of hiding anyone who wants to escape reality. Imagine that to get there, you only need to not look back and be silent. There is just one problem: sometimes, in such a place, things appear that are scarier than what you are hiding from. The life of the Hrozany family suddenly changes. They move to a new house, and fourteen-year-old Mark must go to a new school. The boy is well-read, smart, but very shy — the perfect target for bullying. More and more closing in on himself every day, he dreams of a world where there is no mocking and senseless cruelty. One day, Mark meets Sonya, a girl from the parallel class, who tells him about the existence of such a world and the possibility of getting there... simply by using the elevator in their building. The boy doesn’t understand why Sonya is making up nonsense that is easy to debunk, but he ultimately follows her. He doesn’t suspect that an ordinary trip to the tenth floor threatens something much worse than the destruction of his perceptions of the real world.
