This novel has been recognized by Ukrainian and international critics not only as the most outstanding work of Ukrainian literature in the era of independence, but also as one of the most significant pieces of Eastern European literature after the fall of communism. It was awarded the Central European literary prize "Angelus" (2013), translated into English, German, Polish, Czech, and Russian, and repeatedly named “book of the year” (in Ukraine, Germany, Switzerland, Poland). The Museum of Abandoned Secrets — a “Nobel-class novel” (Newsweek Polska) — rightfully became a calling card of modern Ukrainian literature.
